Respect Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji
No Cargo Shipping of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

A global Sikh community campaign for transparency and reverence — protect Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji from commercial cargo shipping.

Protect the Sanctity of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Dear SGPC Leadership and Sri Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat,

I respectfully write as a member of the global Sikh community to express my deep concern regarding reports that 225 saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were transported through commercial sea container shipping.

For Sikhs, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is our Eternal Guru, deserving the highest level of reverence, respect, and care. Many members of the Sikh Sangat believe that transporting Guru Sahib through commercial sea containers does not reflect the honour and dignity that should always be maintained.

The concerns raised by Sikhs around the world remain unresolved. The responses issued to date have not addressed the concerns of many members of the Sangat, who continue to seek greater transparency, accountability, and a clear path forward.

I respectfully request that SGPC and Sri Akal Takht Sahib:

Many Sikhs have consistently expressed the view that the transportation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji through commercial sea containers is not acceptable and should not become an accepted practice in the future. We respectfully ask that these concerns be carefully considered and that future decisions reflect the highest standards of reverence for our Eternal Guru.

I respectfully urge you to act with transparency, accountability, and commitment to Sikh Maryada.

The honour of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is beyond compromise.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

This petition letter will be delivered directly to SGPC and Sri Akal Takht Sahib leadership. This campaign is a peaceful, community-led effort to uphold the reverence and dignity of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
